Nice new bus with cupholders. Great people, great itinerary- didn't have to drive. Good food and rest stop. Painted churches were beautiful. The painted churches guide really gave us a sense of the people and the region and the importance of these little Catholic churches to the community. The Heritage Homestead community in Waco was a revelation. I've lived here for many years and did not know it existed. Food in the restaurant was great. Quit shop was very nice, even had Moda fabric, for all you quilter types. Blue Bell Creamery was a hit, great ice cream and gift shop. George Bush Libray reminded of us about how normal things were back then- even with a war in the Middle East- A lot was packed in 3 days. Can't recommend this trip highly enough!
